Tomato Tangy Chutney



Ingredients:
·        500 gms of ripe tomatoes

·        1 medium size of onion (sliced)

·        1 teaspoon of garlic paste

·        1 inch of ginger cut in Julian

·        5-6 curry leaves

·        Cumin seeds ¼ teaspoon

·        Green chili (2-3)

·        ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

·        ¼ teaspoon of red chili powder

·        ¼ teaspoon of Kashmiri red chili powder

·        ½ teaspoon of coriander powder

·        ¼ teaspoon of cumin powder

·        ¼ teaspoon of garam masala powder

·        1 tablespoon sugar

·        ½ tablespoon of brown sugar (jaggery)

·        Dates (2-3),raisins(5-6)

·        1 tablespoon Coconut(fresh)

·        Salt to taste


METHOD (procedure):

·        Make puree of all tomatoes (for tempering)

·        Put some oil in pan and then put cumin seeds ,green chilis,and curry leaves ,and then add sliced onion .

·        When the onion become golden brown ,add garlic paste ,ginger,

·        turmeric, red chilli  powder, corianderpowder, cumin powder.

·        And, then stir fry for 2- 3 minutes.

·        Add tomatoes and salt to taste

·        Then again stir until the tomatoes are cooked

·        Add dates, raisins, fresh  coconut, brown sugar(jaggery)and lastly add garam masala powder .

Then again stir for 2-3 minutes


And serve it hot with plain rice
